If your child is showing signs of a non-life-threatening illness, please give us a call right away and we will do what we can to see them right away. If your child is experiencing a more serious medical emergency, please call 911 or take them to the emergency room right away. Some of the symptoms and illnesses we can treat here include:
- Sore throat
- Wheezing or asthma
- High and persistent fever
- Persistent pain
- Any other unusual symptom that lasts for more than three days
Following the sick visit, one of our pediatrician’s will discuss what we have found. If a specific illness is present, we will provide you with either a prescription and dosage instructions, or instructions on what you can do at home to get your child back on his or her feet.
Some of the other areas we can help with, but that are not as urgent, include:
- Any newborn problems
- Behavioral problems
- Persistent headaches
- Problems in school
- Newborn feeding or eating problems
- Sleep problems
- Stomach problems
- Recurrent injuries
To make an appointment for any of the above, or for another problem that was listed, please give us a call.
What to Expect
We encourage parents to call and make an appointment for a sick child ahead of time, but we understand that is not always possible. We will do everything we can to avoid making your child sit in the waiting room prior to their visit. Again, if your child is experiencing a medical emergency or if his or her symptoms have worsened over the last several days, please go to the emergency room.
During the visit we will assess your child and make note of any symptoms. Once we’ve performed a physical evaluation and taken any tests or diagnostics, we will discuss our diagnosis with you. The treatment your child requires will vary depending on the diagnosis.
We are dedicated to being here for you and your child when you need us. If your child is feeling under the weather and you would like to bring them in to see one of our knowledgeable pediatricians, please contact Tots N Teens in Mesquite, Plano, or Forney today to make an appointment.
